Hello everyone  I have been an Early Year Educator for 10 years, I previously worked in retail and initially started as a part-time practitioner while still continuing to work within the retail sector. I have now been a full time practitioner for approximately 6 years and I am currently in my final year of studying s BA Honours Degree in Early Childhood Eduction. Basically, I love my job as strange as it may be it keeps me going and makes me smile everyday. The children we care for are amazing and being given permission by them to be a part of their learning journeys is just the best feeling in the world. I like to pretend that I am still 5 years old and being around young children everyday gives me the ability to be able to do this (However, they frequently tell me that I am not 5 but in my head I am )

Mel Georgiou Level 3 Childhood Education.

'My name is Melanie Georgiou, and I have been a Childcare Practitioner for 14 years. I am Level 3 qualified and I have been working at St Francis Preschool since 2019. I have also worked as an Ofsted Registered Childminder for many years, and a Childcare Practitioner at The Pink Cottage in Selsey, where I undertook an apprenticeship and gained my Level 3 qualification.
I chose to work with children because I have a passion to help each child reach their full potential, and to make a positive impact on their lives. I will always work hard at improving my own knowledge and skills to offer the best care and education I possibly can to the children in the setting.
I am originally a Londoner, but have been living in Southampton for 8 years now. I love living by the sea, and going for long walks along the beach and in the woods with my 8 year old son. I'm also very arty and creative and I love painting whenever I can find the time.'

All our staff have been carefully chosen for their ability, dedication and love of children, in addition to their qualifications. We have a high staff to child ratio which allows us to really get to know the children in our care and to help them realise their full potential. We are always available to discuss any suggestions or concerns you may have and have an open door policy, please feel free to come and chat to us.
